Noise Improvement of a Bragg Grating Fibre Laser Hydrophone System with Referencing Configuration

Abstract

A DFB Bragg grating laser is used as a referencing element within a DFB fibre laser hydrophone array system to compensate for the interferometric drift noise of the demodulation mechanism. Preliminary test result shows an improvement of (20-30) dB.
