Tunable Microwave Photonic Filter Based on Cladding-Mode Coupling with Long-Period Fiber Gratings

Abstract

We demonstrate experimentally a Mach-Zehnder type microwave photonic filter, which employs a cladding-mode coupler formed with a pair of long-period fiber gratings to provide continuous and precise tuning of the free spectral range.
