Spectral tuning of a microstructured fibre Bragg grating utilizing an infiltrated ferrofluidic defect

Abstract

A ferrofluidic defect infiltrated in a microstructured fibre Bragg grating, covering 8% of the grating length, is translated along the fibre grating length, controllably reducing the reflected light at specific wavelengths by more than 70%.
