Abstract

LPG on tapered microfiber are fabricated by use 10.6 µm wavelength radiation and a phase mask. A laser is incident normally on the phase mask and the diffracted interfering beams lengthen the fiber and imprint a thermally induced periodic modulation into the tapered fiber placed behind the mask.
