Dissipative Solitons in Normal-Dispersion Fiber Lasers: Exact Pulse Solutions of the Complex Ginzburg-Landau Equation

Abstract

A recently-developed modelocked fiber laser is analyzed with the Ginzburg-Landau equation. A range of experimental pulse shapes are predicted remarkably well by an exact analytical solution, and thus constitute dissipative temporal solitons.
