Tilted fiber Bragg gratings stubs for vibration and bend sensing.

Abstract

A tilted fiber Bragg grating in a short piece of fiber is configured to reflect two resonances separated by 2 nm. The differential sensitivity of the resonances to bending is large (7μW/mm) and temperature-independent.
