Abstract

We report for the first time the fabrication of long-period gratings in near-single-mode GeO2 glass fiber by 800nm-femtosecond-laser inscription, revealing grating resonances strongly polarisation dependent and their temperature sensitivities varying significantly from 96pm/°C to 11pm/°C.
