Spatio-temporal growth of UV-induced gratings

Abstract

Applying a spatio-temporal model, we show the modulation maximum of UV-induced gratings to drift through the photosensitive layer during UV writing. Optimum exposure times for maximum modulation strength of gratings in fibers or waveguides are given.
