Asymmetric effects in uv-induced long-period fiber gratings

Abstract

Fiber core-cladding eccentricity, core asymmetry and uv-induced core asymmetry are found to be the major cause of symmetric-asymmetric mode coupling in uv-induced long-period fiber gratings.
