Fabrication of a tilted fiber-grating polarization-dependent loss equalizer

Abstract

Polarization-dependent loss (PDL) equalizers using tilted fiber Bragg gratings in standard telecommunications fiber are fabricated. The equalizers have set PDL levels with wavelength and are used to compensate for the PDL of components or systems.
