Fabrication of symmetrical waveguide devices by direct UV writing

Abstract

Splitters fabricated by direct UV writing suffer from an asymmetrical splitting ratio. This effect originates from a reduced photosensitivity in the vicinity of previously exposed areas and may be counteracted by applying different scan velocities in the output arms.
