1.34-μm Nd:YVO4 Laser Mode-Locking by χ(2)-Lensing in Periodically Poled Stoichiometric Lithium Tantalate

Abstract

Self-starting χ(2)–lens mode-locking of a 1.34-μm Nd:YVO4 laser using second harmonic generation in PPMgSLT is demonstrated. A train of 5.9 ps pulses with ~1 W average output power at 102 MHz is achieved.
