Background suppression using a fiber stretcher for optimally chirped CARS microscopy

Abstract

CARS microscopy is performed using a light source based on a single femtosecond laser oscillator and soliton self-frequency shift in a microstructured fiber. A fiber stretcher for optimally chirped pulses results in considerable background suppression.
