Inhibition of stimulated Raman scattering using long period gratings in double clad fiber amplifiers

Abstract

Inhibition of SRS in doublecladd fiber amplifiers using LPGs is reported. Three LPGs couple the Stokes wavelength from core to cladding and double the extractable Raman free output power of a test pulse amplifier.
