Abstract

The recently developed Yb:LuScO3 gain material combines large emission bandwidth with good thermal conductivity. We demonstrate the first mode-locked Yb:LuScO3 thin disk laser, obtaining 275-fs pulses at 67 MHz and 7.7 W average output power.
