Single-Frequency, Single-Mode Emission at 2040 nm from a 600-W Thulium-Doped Fiber Amplifier Chain

Abstract

A single-frequency, 2040-nm DFB diode laser is amplified by 53 dB through a chain of four Tm fiber amplifiers to 608 W with M2 = 1.05 and sufficiently low phase noise to allow coherent beam combining.
