Influence of impurity and energy migrations on the radiative and non-radiative decay of ytterbium-doped sesquioxide ceramics

Abstract

We provide both experimental data and modeling of the lifetime and energy migrations in rare-earth-doped sesquioxide ceramic used as solid-state laser materials. The influence of impurities on quenching probability and the enhancement of the latter by the energy migrations between activating ions are studied.
