58 fs pulses from a mode-locked Yb:LuVO4 laser

Abstract

We report passive mode-locking of the ytterbium doped orthovanadate crystal Yb:LuVO4 with a semiconductor saturable absorber, achieving pulses as short as 58 fs at 1036 nm for an average power of 85 mW.
