Ultra-long cavity passively mode-locked diode-pumped Nd:YVO4 laser

Abstract

We demonstrate the operation of a 24 kW-peak-power, 16-picosecond diode pumped Nd:YVO4 passively mode locked laser oscillator with to our knowledge the lowest repetition rate (below 1 MHz) ever generated without cavity dumping. Application to fluorescence lifetime imaging measurements is presented.
