TeO2: Solid-State SBS Material with Exceptionally High Gain

Abstract

We observe very low threshold phase conjugation by stimulated Brillouin scattering in crystalline TeO2. The resulting steady-state gain parameter, 100 cm/GW, is to our knowledge the largest ever reported for a solid-state material.
