Diode-pumped Yb:LiYF4 chirped-pulse regenerative amplifier for high average power operation

Abstract

10-mJ output power was obtained using a diode-pumped regenerative amplifier with a cooled Yb:LiYF4 crystal. The pump duration as short as 1-ms would enable 1-kHz repetition rate with a continuous wave pump.
