Humidity dependent tunable four-wave mixing in fundamental and first-order mode of gelatin-coated nonlinear fiber

Abstract

The hydrophilic effect in specially designed gelatin-coated chalcogenide-silica step-index fiber is exploited to design tunable fiber-optic parametric sources in the visible to mid-IR wavelength range with a tuning rate of ~ 1.8 THz/%RH.
