Regime-dependent photo-darkening-induced modal degradation in high power fiber amplifier

Abstract

We report on the dependence of the photo-darkening equilibrium level on the operation regime in high power fiber amplifier and reveal its impact on the threshold of the recently discussed fiber modal degradation effect.
