High-order nonlinearities in Tb3+ doped calcium aluminosilicate glasses

Abstract

High-order nonlinearity was observed in Tb3+ doped glasses, using the time resolved Z-scan technique. Our results indicate that the nonlinearities are related to the intensity of the 4f→4f75d1 transitions of the Tb3+ ions.
