Abstract

We present mode-locking via nonlinear polarization rotation (NPR) in Yb:YAG. Intrinsic dispersion compensation via negative SPM and normal dispersion in the NPR crystal allowed for 193 fs pulses. The group-velocity-mismatch effects allowed for adjusting the pulse duration between 193 fs - 1 ps.
