Abstract

Nanosecond pulses are amplified from 5 µJ to 230 µJ at 1064 nm in a short LMA-PM-Yb-doped fiber pumped at 915 nm. Experimental limitations introduced by pulsed-pump, ASE and nonlinear effects agree with our numerical simulations.
