Abstract

We present a high-power ultrashort-pulse laser based on the coherent combination of multiple fiber amplifiers. With this system we were able to generate 200fs pulses at 132W average power and more than 18GW of peak-power, which is the highest power value directly emitted from a fiber-based system. Additionally, an excellent efficiency of the combination process of 90% has been achieved.
