Graphene Saturable Absorber Q-switched Tm:KLu(WO4)2 Laser Emitting at 2 μm

Abstract

A diode-pumped passively Q-switched Tm:KLuW laser using commercially available single-layer graphene as saturable absorber is described. The highly-efficient 2-μm laser generated stable pulse trains at 35 kHz repetition rate with pulse energies of ~1 μJ.
