Abstract

Being the second largest economy in the world, China naturally gets a lot attention of the world and the laser industry is no exception. China presents itself to many laser companies in the world as their source of growth for the next decade. The Chinese domestic laser industry is also growing rapidly thanks to its overall economic growth. What kind of impact it will have on the world of lasers remains to be seen. We will present in this paper the latest development of the Chinese laser industry including some highlights of the past year. The trend for the near future will also be discussed.
