Abstract

We report on the passively Q-switched lasers in the femtosecond laser written Nd:YVO4 single- and double-cladding waveguides. Using graphene as the saturable absorber, passively Q-switched waveguide laser operations were achieved. The pulsed laser produces 70 ns pulses, with a ~14.5 MHz repetition rate, 31.8% slope efficiency and 361 mW average output power, corresponding to single-pulse energy of 24.9 nJ.
