Pushing SESAM modelocked thin-disk lasers to shortest pulse durations

Abstract

We present latest results of SESAM modelocked thin-disk lasers (TDLs) with short pulse durations. An Yb:CALGO TDL allows to reach sub-50 fs pulse duration and a dual-gain media (Yb:Lu2O3 and Yb:Sc2O3) modelocked TDL has demonstrated pulses as short at 103 fs with an average power of 1.4 W and 124 fs with 8.6 W.
