Close to three-octave-spanning supercontinuum generated in ZBLAN photonic crystal fiber

Abstract

We report the successful fabrication of a ZBLAN photonic crystal fiber with sub-micron features and large air-filling fraction and use it to generate a 10dB-flat supercontinuum (350 to 2500nm) from 140fs, 1nJ pulses at 1042nm.
