Abstract

In this contribution we investigate the dependence of the mode instability threshold on the average output power of the seed system. We show that the threshold of mode instabilities mostly depends on the power extracted from the amplifier. Based on this observation we discuss and show a possible scheme to scale the mode instability power threshold of a system above current existing limits.
