An optical parametric amplifier based on periodically poled KTiOPO4, seeded by an Er-Yb: glass microchip laser

Abstract

We report on an optical parametric amplifier in periodically poled KTiOPO4 at 1.54 µm, with an Er-Yb:glass microchip seed laser. The signal pulses reached 71 µJ, with pulse duration of 3 ns, corresponding to 66 dB gain.
