Abstract

Progress is reported on an high average power, planar waveguide Nd:YAG laser which is face-pumped by 10 cw diode bars. Multi-mode and unstable resonator configurations are quantified and the transverse beam quality shown to be little affected by the thermal lens in the waveguide. A new coherent imaging configuration for high beam quality amplification is described.
