Abstract

Generation of 52 fs pulses with an Yb fiber amplifier is demonstrated. The pulse energy is 3 nJ at a repetition rate of 50 MHz. Pulse compression including an anomalous 3rd-order dispersion fiber in conjunction with a simple bulk grating compressor is implemented. Frequency doubling provides an efficient ultrafast pulse source in the green spectral region.
