Abstract

New UV tunable amplification medium crystal Ce3+:LiSr0.8Ca0.2AlF6 grown as a broad gain spectrum over 15-nm is observed by newly invented two-crystal pump and probe scheme. The preliminary laser operation of the Ce:LiSCAF crystal is also confirmed.
