Continuous Wave Diode Pumped Cr2+:ZnSe and High Power Laser Operation

Abstract

Direct continuous wave diode-pumping of Cr:ZnSe single crystals was realized. An output power of 15.4 mW and a slope efficiency of 14.2% were demonstrated. Efficient laser operation of Cr2+:ZnSe was also obtained with an output power of 1.4 W under Tm:YAG laser pumping. In Q-switch pumped operation laser oscillation up to a wavelength of 3040 nm was achieved.
