Pump Face Cooling of a Nd:YVO4 Laser

Abstract

Aspheric thermal lensing and induced stress cause significant mode quality aberration in end-pumped lasers. By cooling only the pump faces of the laser crystal, power scaling and mode-hop-free rapid modulation is achieved.
