Calculations of optimum design parameters for Yb:YAG thin disk lasers

Abstract

Analytical equations are derived that show the general dependence of optimum crystal thickness on system parameters of a thin disk laser. For the calculation of the optimum design parameters of a high power Yb:YAG thin disk laser a numerical model has been used. The numerical model and its parameters as well as the results are presented.
