Abstract
A laser source based on a solid state laser pump and operating at 0.304 µm was demonstrated by employing a Nd:YAG oscillator and amplifier, second harmonic, Raman scattering, and another second harmonic process. Nonlinear efficiencies of >0.6, >0.4, and >0.15, respectively, were obtained. Measured efficiencies compare well with a model which includes pulse distortion caused by the laser amplifier.
