Abstract

All-solid-state KLM Cr:LiSAF and Cr:YAG oscillators have been experimentally developed and analysed using a numerical model incorporating astigmatism, nonlinear x-y coupling, gain-guiding and arbitrary pump beam profiles. Mode-locking with both hard and soft apertures is considered.
