Abstract

The performance of Nd:YAG and Nd:YAlO lasers on the long wavelength end of the ⁴F_3/2 ⇒ ⁴I_13/2 transition around 1440nm were tested under cw diode excitation. Output powers of 4.9W (Nd:YAG) and 2.2W (Nd:YAIO) were achieved.
