Abstract

Narrow bandwidth operation of a gain-switched chromium (IV) laser is reported for the first time. Near transform-limited single longitudinal mode pulses have been obtained from a novel coupled-cavity laser. The laser output was tunable across a lOOnm wavelength range. Excitation was provided by the fundamental of a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser.
