Abstract
The photoconductivity and holographic current were studied in Er, Tm, and Ho doped YSGG laser crystals under visible and infrared excitation. The kinetics and spectroscopic studies showed that photoconductivity was linearly proportional to the excited state concentration of 4f states. Under excitation of the samples with two mutually coherent beams the holographic current was registered at the phase modulation of one of the beams. The holographic current was described with a model accounting for the energy transfer, ionization, recombination, and diffusion and drift currents in the conduction band.
