Quasi-cw Diode Pumped 2.8 μm Laser Operation of Er3+-doped Garnets

Abstract

We investigated the laser performance of Er:YSGG and Er:GGG at 2.8 μm in quasi-cw operation up to 45 mJ output energy. A scaleable diode-end-pumping technology transferred 400 mJ quasi-cw diode laser power into the crystals.
