Abstract

Continuous-wave, low-threshold and 6.5 kHz linewidth single longitudinal mode operation is achieved in a nove1 distributed-feedback (DFB) ring all-fiber laser configuration, using an Er3+/Yb3+-doped phosphosilicate fiber. Self-Q-switching due to saturable absorption has also been observed in the DFB ring configuration using a heavily erbium doped germanosilicate fiber.
