Diode-Pumped, CW, Blue, Green, Orange, and Red Upconversion Fiber Lasers Operating at Room Temperature

Abstract

We report cw laser operation at wavelengths of 491–493 nm, 517–540 nm, 605–622 nm, and 635–637 nm in Pr3+/Yb3+-doped ZBLAN fibers pumped in the range of 780 nm to 885 nm with a Ti:sapphire laser. By using a single AlGaAs diode laser with a center wavelength of 852 nm as the pump source, we have also achieved cw laser operation at 491 nm, 520 nm, 615 nm, and 635 nm.
