Abstract
Upconversion processes were quantitatively investigated in neodymium doped LaSc3(BO3)4 (LSB) and GdVO4 (GVO) crystals. Two different types of upconversion behaviour were observed in these crystals: for LSB the upconversion was found to be static with the upconversion microparameter C*da in the range of (0.5–1.1)×10−37 cm6/s, and for GVO upconversion is migration accelerated with the nonlinear macroparameter α = 1.2×10−15 cm3/s.
The methods of calculations of the nonlinear parameters are given. The influence of the upconversion on lasing is discussed.
