Abstract

An all solid state, diode pumped Nd:YAG laser altimeter transmitter for NASA aircraft missions has been built and flown on several missions. It was recently upgraded with a ziz-zag amplifier for better performance and mated with a galvanometric scanning mirror for 2-dimensional beam placement on the overflown terrain.
